Justin and Laura’s Rustic Themed Wedding at Pine Valley Chalet Kitchener

Laura and Justin chose Pine Valley Chalet in Kitchener Ontario as the venue for their beautiful wedding day. With the exposed wood beams and beautiful woodwork, it was the perfect location for the rustic/camping inspired wedding theme!

Laura & Justin love the outdoors, so their rustic camping inspired theme was perfect for them. When I first heard “camping inspired” I wasn’t sure what to expect, but they pulled it off beautifully! All of their details were hand made (and had to have taken a ton of time to create!) I especially love the campfire centrepieces and the wedding cake that was was designed like a tree with a canoe cake topper!

We started the day getting ready at the Ramada in Kitchener. Then we headed to a nice park just down the road from the hotel as well as Pine Valley Chalet. Schnieder Park is right on The Grand River. It was a great spot for not only the bride and grooms first look, but also for the bride’s fathers first look, and then the formal wedding photos. You could really see all the thought that Laura and Justin put into their wedding details, not just for their wedding reception, but for all throughout the day. Another of my favourite details was the sign that Laura made for her fathers first look (see picture below!)

After the formal photos were done it was off to Pine Valley Chalet for the wedding ceremony, where Laura’s father pulled off double duty. Not only did he walk her down the aisle, but he also performed their ceremony!

Later on that evening, we had a beautiful golden hour. Laura and Justin let me pull them outside for a few more quick photos with the setting sun as well as Justin’s truck! If there is one thing I can recommend when planning your wedding day, if at all possible, try to schedule in 5-10 minutes before sunset to go out for a few quick photos. Especially if the sun is out. I would happily trade an hour of photo time in the middle of the day for 10 minutes during golden hour with that beautiful soft setting sun! Check here for more tips for planning your wedding day!
